Dr.
Jinlong Liu is
currently Professor of School of Agricultural Economics and Rural
Development,
Renming University of China. He leads a team to redesign the MS, and
Ph.D
curriculum to respond to the needs of academic discipline of forestry
policy
and management and to substantially change the environmental policy
concentration adapted to rapid social and economic transformation. He
has been
facilitating a collaborative research group in China
on the subject of forestry
policy, multi-stakeholder participation, participatory forest
management,
traditional forest-related knowledge.
Mr. Jinlong Liu earned a
B.S. in Forestry Sciences at 1987, master’s in Agroforestry at 1990
from Nanjing Forestry
University, and Ph.D in Rural
Development Sociology from the Wageningen University
in 2006. Since
1990, He had joined Chinese Academy of Forestry before he come to Renming University mid 2008. At Chinese Academy of Forestry, he has
successfully
mobilized research funds from Chinese government, FAO, World Bank,
UNDP, and
European Union and leaded a team to do research on the field of
participatory
forest management, environmental policy and nature resource management.
Since
1995, he provided his academic support to Chinese government in
international
dialogues on forests and environments. He is active in China
on forest
policy arena. He has provided consultancy services for World Bank, Asia
Development Bank, FAO, UNDP, JBIC, KfW, DFID, CIAD, and a few
international
non-governmental organizations on the area of community development,
participatory forestry, and poverty alleviation, development sociology
in China, DPR
Korea, and Myanmar.
He is in an editor board
of Journal of Forestry Economics (Chinese version). He has published a
dozen
scientific books and about 40 manuscripts in various scientific
journals.
